One day in history class, when we were learning about the John F. Kennedy murder, I realized how intrigued I was in wanting to know more about what happened. That is when I realized I wanted to go into criminal justice. Criminal justice offers a wide range of career options.Criminal justice options range from law enforcement to legal work, to a detective, or even a forensic scientist. Working in criminal justice would allow me to make a positive difference in my community. I would be helping to prevent crime and support those in need.
Knowing that I want to pursue a career in criminal justice, I am enrolled in advanced classes. I also participate in several extracurricular activities. These extracurricular activities have taught me many valuable lessons, including teamwork, team building, and problem-solving. I have been on the school cheer team for three years, and it has had a significant impact on my team-building skills, teaching me how to work well with others. The teachers at my school work very hard to ensure we are well-prepared for college. One of my teachers, Mrs. Sanderson, nominated me for a STEM camp at the University of Huntsville in Alabama. I learned how to program robots and work with a team. This helped me develop my computer coding skills, leadership abilities, and critical thinking.

My parents have taught me the importance of giving. They have always told me how giving can have a significant impact on both society and oneself. At my school, I am a member of the student council, and we hold meetings to discuss ideas on how we can improve our community and school. When I was in 10th grade, we took a field trip in 2024 to the Ronald McDonald House in Mobile. While we were there, we separated into two groups and took turns cleaning the kitchen and packing away food. I had a great time meeting the lovely staff and even encountered a couple of families while I was there.

I am involved in many extracurricular activities at my school. It is essential to be involved with the school in as many ways as possible. I am a member of the Varsity cheer team and the JV volleyball team. I have been on the cheer team for 3 years, and this is my first year playing volleyball. The cheer team has taught me many valuable lessons, including team building, considering others' perspectives, and collaborating with others. The volleyball team has taught me that it's okay to mess up sometimes, but you have to get back up. The volleyball team has also taught me how to use my voice, help others, and learn from others. I am also involved in clubs at my school. I am a member of the Student Council and the Beta Club. Being in these clubs has taught me many valuable lessons. While being in these clubs, I have developed new skills, made new friendships, and always want to try new things. It is essential to be involved in extracurricular activities. It will keep you on your toes, teach you many new skills, and keep you more involved with the school.

My educational journey at Leroy High School has helped me become well-rounded. I've learned to balance my time between my classes, work, church, extra-curricular activities, and home life. These experiences will continue to mold me into a successful college student.

Strengthening my ties to my community helped me to realize how my actions can positively impact others. The skills I have obtained will help me be a better college student and, eventually, a better employee in the workforce. We can work together to make the world a better place and ensure our community's needs are met.
